The car appears to be in excellent, unmolested shape and has very low mileage. I think the $25K is a tad steep even with the extended warranty. Thoughts?

Interesting point, but you know what assuming does.

I know, but I would look into that a little more. See how legitimate it is. (also, hard to think these are 10 year old cars now eh?)

I’ll definitely look into if the warranty has been used or not. Seems like the original owner so I’m hoping he will have all the records. However, buying this means no upgrade to an 899 or S1000RR in a year or so . . .

The warrenty might still be okay...if HE owns it. being a BMW dealer, they might void it when its sold (because BMW)

ooh it does look good especially in silver. Don’t know why but I’ve been thinking a lot lately whether I would prefer an E46 M3 or an Evo 9. Anyway back to you, warranties are worth the weight in mur when it comes to business brands so I dig it.

Pretty high price.. $25k should get you a competition package M3 in a better color combo with similar mileage.. Check out E46fanatics, they have some clean cars for sale and are all enthusiast owned.

6Speed? Check. Go buy it.
Might have VANOS (BMW’s version of VTech) and valve checks coming due. Not warranty items. Find a performance BMW shop in your area and ask what they might cost.
Also, check for cracks in rear subframe as some E46s had this problem. THAT would be warrantied
KBB is prob around 18-20. Most banks don’t like older cars and so won’t pay more. If you can at all get it, do. If it’s been well-maintained and has records to show VANOS and Valves at spec, then you will not regret owning this car.
e46fanatics.com and m3forun.net (Tough to navigate until you get to the E46 side: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/forumd… ) are super helpful. I’d read everything in http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showth… as soon as you can. Extremely informative. The main contrib to that thread is a hero for sharing his experience.

I think the warranty is what justifies a higher price. Lack of a competition package isn’t that big of deal. What did it even add on the E46?

Better brakes, different steering rack, better stability control, M-track mode, better wheels. It’s just what I would do for $25k as they will hold their value better than regular M3’s. But the warranty is enticing, and I can definitely see why the car has a higher price.

Checked KBB. I’d either qualify this car (judging by photos) as excellent or very good condition. Excellent is about 23K, Very good is a bout 21.5K. Also, I don’t intend on tracking this car.

Yeah but there are also cars like this listed for way more.
This isn’t a bad price.
It’s a 2006 low mileage manual. If it’s not fucked up in any way then it’s not a bad deal.

I would buy this at this price if I didn’t live in Oregon. Too far of a trip.
